Large dataset query

Hi there

I’m new to PATN so am still coming to grips with what it can do, and so this is no doubt a very basic question!!

I am working with a large data set and so am following through the suggested steps… I need to export the row group centroids so I can then import these as a new data set – how do I export the centroids?? I can’t find anything relating to this in the help.

Hi Sara

No problems asking about such things. That’s why the Forum is here.

You can export the group centroids from ‘File | Export Evaluation Data | Row Group Statistics’. The centroids are a part of this file. Just read it into Excel and you will see the layout. The table is variable by group by statistics. It is basically a 3d-table that has been compressed the 2d so it needs a little editing if you want to re-import the group centroids (means in this case) as variables.

I note that there isn’t a specific entry in the help for exporting group CENTROIDS, so I’ve now added one for v3.04 which really should be out very soon (a free upgrade to existing users).
